Holiday Hoopla

This week I have read article after article written by Christians complaining that everyone is involved in a war against religion and Christmas. I pretty well had a laughing fit about this. It's pretty funny to think that people who are a massive majority in this country think that everyone is out to get them. Most people in America are Christians. So who's out to ruin Christmas? I really haven't seen anyone with any agenda to ruin Christmas, but churches and religious organizations are abounding with pro-Christmas messages on buttons, bumper stickers and cards promoting Christmas and denouncing those 'out to get them.'

I thought it was funny, but now I think it's scary. Why do people who so obviously not persecuted feeling persecuted? And why are they in return persecuting someone else? Albeit, those they are persecuting are those mysterious unknown 'anti-Christmas' people. It's no longer OK to say Happy Holidays, if you do, you are Anti-Christmas. God forbid you that you should want to include everyone by saying Happy Holidays. If you're saying it, it must be because you are not including Christians or are afraid of those who might be offended.

Sorry folks, but I've friends of all faiths, and many who are Christians who do not promote Christmas. That's right. Christians who do not promote Christmas. Christmas as we know it is an American creation, not a Christian creation.

So Happy Holidays folks. Which ever Holiday you love. Which ever Holiday has the most meaning to you. Which ever one you believe in, and stop being offended because I didn't wish you a Merry Christmas, you're starting to sound like the scrooge.
